  • I feel like Sheldon Cooper, given the level of tenacity and fervor with which I pursue a violent and public resolution to my problems by displaying my dissatisfaction with the peons of the electronics store known as Fry’s.  (That has to be a run-on sentence.) As a consumer I have had some pretty bad experiences, but few compare to the mess that Fry’s Electronics put me in.  This isn’t slight annoyance, or bordering on irritation, this is full on rage and hatred for Fry’s Electronics. My story starts as most stories shopping for a new computer do- with some research online and a trip to the local electronics store.  In the Pacific Northwest we were thrilled when Fry’s Electronics opened, […]

  • Is it just me, or is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about 3D gaming and having it crammed down our throats?   I’m just voicing my opinion on this matter, but enough already! I get it! You can play games in 3D.  The bigger question is, does it make gaming any more enjoyable than playing a game in standard 2D?  I had the opportunity to demo games in 3D at last year’s PAX conference, and I’m not sure. Yes, it was more engaging, ever so slightly, but more none the less. Is it a make it or break it experience? To me, it wasn’t. It was cool to play for a few minutes. The games I played did […]

In simplest terms Stuxnet is a worm virus capable of secretly infecting a computer network and working it’s way in to the target.  During this process it does not cause any harm to the computers it uses to locate it’s target, nor does it make itself known in any way.  When it reaches the target computer it reprograms the target code in the software.  These code changes cause actual physical changes in the industrial environment which these worms were created to infiltrate, without notifying the operators of any abnormalities. Stuxnet was first discovered in July 2010 […]

  • The answer will probably surprise you. First off we did some investigative research on the current technologies available to the general public. Given what we currently know about computers, an auditory and oral interface would be completely plausible and can even be constructed in such a way that it would only respond to your voice commands or those whose voices have been authorized. People have been designing, programming, and utilizing oral interfaces for years now. The holographic technology displayed in the movies is still years away and technically holograms are not capable of producing the imagery shown in the Iron Man movies. The closest thing to that technology is the Microsoft Surface. There’s actually another solution that will let you […]

So many websites blather on about their feelings and opinions regarding this game. It’s everything you need and nothing you don’t, all in one place. Make sure you share this with your friends and follow NERD TREK on Facebook and Twitter. SKYRIM FACTS […]

I know, I know, there is no such thing as playing too much. Very true.
