    Advanced Arcana I + II

After my epic review of 1010 spells, you’ll probably think: Do we need more spells? Well, probably not regular ones, but the following spells are anything but regular! Ladies and Gentlemen, please read the review of imho the best books Necromancers of the Northwest have put out so far!   Advanced Arcana Volume I   This pdf is 59 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page inside of front cover, 1 page credits, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD and 1 page back cover. That leaves 53 pages of new arcane, not a bad bang-to-buck-ratio, so let’s dive in. The pdf starts with one page of in-character introduction to the book in the form of a letter as […]

  •   Notice how there’s no real rules-representation on how to handle rituals in PFRPG? Well, there’s a remedy by Zombie Sky Press for that and one I’d consider first-class indeed! Incantations from the Other Side: Spirit Magic   This pdf is 39 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page containing both SRD and Index. That leaves 35 pages of content. Incantations kicks off with an introduction to the spirit world, explaining how spirit magic and incantations are neither truly divine nor arcane, how they represent a primal power that can be tapped via rituals by anyone who knows how to do so, but may exact a price. (2 pages) The first chapter describes […]

  • This long awaited tome of items for the Pathfinder RPG promises to fulfill every GM’s treasure hoard requirements, and satisfy any player’s gear requirements.  Paizo states that this book is a “must-have companion volume to the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook.” We shall delve a little deeper into this volume and determine if this is in fact a book worthy of placement on your bookshelf directly beside your CORE RULES and BESTIARY. First off, I would like to say that, for an older gamer, this book is very reminiscent of the Arms & Equipment Guide from AD&D, and the Aurora’s Whole Realms catalog for the Forgotten Realms.  Both books proved invaluable to our gaming group over the years, so perhaps this new equipment […]

  • Aiden Pierce is the protagonist of this open World Third-Person Action Adventure game.  It’s set in modern day Chicago where the city government is corrupt.  You (as Aiden Pierce) are trying to take down and expose the corrupt officials using the grey area world between mainstream society and the criminal underground. Surveillance is an important mechanic in the game.  We’ll be able to use Aiden’s in-game cell phone for doing things like manipulating traffic lights to cause accidents, listening in on people’s phone calls, and identifying strangers.  We can also hack into personal profiles, employment files, medical reports, and get other info on them.  The game looks really cool while you’re using the surveillance systems in the gameplay footage I’ve […]

  • Written and directed by Eli Craig, this horror/comedy hybrid film made its debut in 2010 to a small circuit of film festivals and independent theaters to the feverish acclaim of critics and fans alike. With it having been recently released onto Netflix Instant streaming and other on-demand video services, now is the perfect time to revisit this raucous, moonshine-fueled, bloody, laugh fest. Lovable Rednecks The film stars Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine who play Tucker and Dale respectively. Admittedly, I was first drawn to this film due solely to the fact that Tudyk was headlining as a loveable redneck. I was pleasantly surprised that this movie could deliver on all of the promises made in the trailer. Unique Plot Plot-wise, […]
