  • For some Sci-Fi fans, the Stargate series was the greatest of all the Sci-Space dramas. Captivating us for more than 10 years, the Stargate franchise had it all, and behind all of it,  was Joseph Mallozzi, (born October 16, 1965 in Canada) A well known writer and producer.  Most noted for his contributions to the Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and Stargate Universe television series.  Working together with partner Paul Mullie, Joseph spent 11 years as writer and executive producer for all three series. NERD TREK had the great honor and distinction to conduct the following interview with Joseph Mallozzi.   Q. Joseph, How did you first become involved with the Stargate series as a writer/producer? A. My agent informed us Stargate […]

  • Kill Shakespeare Volume 2: The Blast of War   Kill Shakespeare written by Conor McCreery & Anthony Del Col, with art by Andy Belanger is an original series borrowing heavily from Shakespearean lore to craft an original and exciting story.  The authors achieve this feat by taking the most famous of William Shakespeare’s characters and launching them wildly flailing into a intriguing story. In the world McCreery, Del Col, and Belanger have created, William Shakespeare is regarded either as a god-like figure or an arch-villain depending upon with whom one inquires.  One thing is certain though, he is the creator and is to play a pivotal role in the destiny of the Shakespearean characters. Hamlet plays the role of lead character both in […]

  • Another reboot for a company that set the bar for how we could grow attached to comics through iconic figures. Going into this reboot I was upset. What did you need to change? What purpose could it serve going forward? Basically I was mad that they would do this… until I read the book 1 of Justice league. I do not know how a company can redefine a group that has been drawn for decades, but they did.  I was very impressed!  Actually, I was stunned and reinvigorated! The changes that have been made to my favorite superhero (Superman of course) are just amazing. His belt is red and his belt buckle is shaped like the symbol from the house […]

  • I am a fan of Thor, both in Norwegian theology and in the pages of Marvel Comic books.  That said, I had high expectations for the movie released May 6, 2011.  If you want the short: Thor is epic!  Go see it.  Thor has a wonderful mix for a movie with action, comic relief, and a star studded cast.  You do not have to be into comic books to thoroughly enjoy this film.  Even if you would rather save money by seeing it in 2D instead of paying for a 3D IMAX experience, Thor is a fantastic work of art. For those of you that want the long: With any modern movie (especially movies aimed at a large range of […]
