Step by Step Unlock with GreenPois0n:

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 with GreenPois0n RC5

Warning: Do not upgrade to iOS 4.2.1 if you relay on an unlock. Ultrasn0w does not support the latest baseband yet.

Step 1:
Download GreenPois0n RC5 from the following url http://www.greenpois0n.com Click on Windows link to download. If that link is not working for you download from this Mirror.

Step 2:
Save the zip file on your desktop.

Step 3:
Extract by double click the downloaded gp_win_rc5_b2.zip file then drag the greenpois0n.exe file to the desktop. Double greenpois0n.exe to launch the application.

Step 4:
Power off and connect your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with the PC. Now Click the large Prepare to Jailbreak(DFU) button

Step 5:
GreenPois0n will instruct you to put your device into DFU mode.

Press and hold the sleep button (the power on button) for 2 seconds.

Continue holding Sleep button and also Press and hold Home for 10 seconds.

Release Sleep button but continue holding Home for 15 seconds.

Step 6:
Now your device is in DFU mode. Click the Jailbreak button.

Step 7:
Greenpois0n will now jailbreak your device

Step 8:
Click the Quit button once the Jailbreaking is completed.

You’ll notice some verbose mode text scrolling on your device.

Step 9:
After restart you’ll notice a new Loader application on your Springboard. Touch its icon and launch it.

Step 10:
Touch on Cydia then press the large Install Cydia button that appears.

Step 11:
Once Cydia has installed successfully you can remove Loader by pressing the Options button then the large red Remove Loader.app button.

Step 12:
Restart your device then run Cydia. Let it do all the necessary updates.

You are JAILBROKEN!

Obviously you have come here seeking answers on how to unlock the new firmware 4.2.1 from Apple for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Unlocking iOS 4.2.1 is finally possible. Just follow the steps below to unlock iOS 4.2

The first iPad firmware 3.2.2 has baseband version 06.15.00 still vulnerable to AT+XAPP. The iPad baseband is built for the same baseband chip as the iPhone3G & 3GS.  There are mixed reports regarding GPS functionality at 06.15.00. Please be aware that you might lose GPS at 06.15.00.

Option #1
OSX & WINDOWS – redsn0w
If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and are already unlockable but want to get to 4.2.1, please wait til we release an “unofficial” bundle for you. Read no further.

1. Download & use redsn0w for OSX (download link!) or Windows (download link!).
2. Enable the “Install iPad baseband” option and accept the warning.
3. When redsn0w ramdisk is finished, install ultrasn0w via Cydia.

Congrats, you are Unlocked! :)

Option #2
OSX only – PwnageTool
If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and are already unlockable but want to get to 4.2.1, please wait til we release an “unofficial” bundle for you. Read no further.

1. Download an updated 3GS bundle (download link!).
2. Download this IPSW (download link!).
3. Run PwnageTool (download link!) to create a custom 4.1 IPSW.
4. Tell it you want to use the iPad baseband you just downloaded.
5. Restore to this custom IPSW.
6. Install ultrasn0w through Cydia
