Mass Effect 3 – Meet the Crew

In the new trailer from Mass Effect Crew, Bioware introduced us to some of the voice actors that we’ll be encountering in the new game.

Among the old favourites returning will be Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man, against whom Shepard will be at odds during the course of the game. Sheen needs no introduction as his name speaks for himself. He is best known for his roles in the series The West Wing and the movie Apocalypse Now which earned him a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Best Actor. Sheen reveals that in this game, we will very clearly see in which direction the Illusive Man is trying to take humanity and on who’s side he is (something we could never quite figure out during the second instalment).

Returning to the cockpit (or is that bridge?) will be Seth Green and Tricia Helfer reprising their roles as Joker and EDI respectively. The interaction between the two promises to be as intense as it was in the previous game with EDI clearly needing to deal with some dilemmas that she had never faced before and to evolve beyond her role of Artificial Intelligence (or so we hope).

As revealed, Freddie Prinze Jr will be voicing the part of James Vega, the new comer to the Normandy. Vega is a hardened Alliance soldier first met in the short comic Mass Effect: Conviction who was charged with guarding a single prisoner… Commander Shepard. Joining him as a newbie will be Jessica Chobot who’ll be taking on the role of Diana Allers – a System’s Alliance Reporter who’ll be stationed on the Normandy. Let’s hope for her sake that her relationship with Shepard will be a little bit more successfull than Emily Wong’s…

Also returning will be Ali Hillis as Dr. Liara T’Soni who is one of the three main love interests of Mass Effect 1 which can be brought over to this game and Keith David who plays one of the most popular characters (in my personal opinion) of the series namely Captain David Edward Anderson (now Admiral). Anderson is the star of  three of the novels namely Mass Effect Revelation, Mass Effect Ascension and Mass Effect Retribution. Keith David describes him to be man’s man and it is clear that Anderson will do everything within his power to try and save as much of humanity as he can…

And lastly, also featured in the program, was Jennifer Hale who’s playing the role of FemShep. Bioware offered us a glimpse of their new ‘default’ Shepard and it’s been a wonderful change to see the female Commander featured in their promotion material (up until now, her appearance has been minimal in the advertising).

Needless to say –  this trailer will go far to promote the already stellar anticipation of all the old fans of the genre and the date draws ever near when Reapers will be coming.

Mass Effect 3’s Demo will be released on the 14th of February to all platforms.

Mass Effect 3 will be available on the 6th of March in North America and the 9th of March in Europe and the rest of the world.
