Skyrim is the latest game from the Elder Scroll series. It begins nearly 200 years after Oblivion; hence the races have changed quite a bit. The land of Skyrim is home to ten different races. They have new abilities, powers and special skills. The following is a list of all the various races with their abilities, native place, spells, and initial bonuses.
Altmer
Altmer are the High Elves and are native to the Summerset Isle.
Abilities: They are Highborn and have 50 extra magicka.
The high elves can also regenerate magicka faster for 60 seconds.
Spells: Fury
Initial Bonus: +10 Illusion
+5 Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration, Enchanting, Alteration
Argonian
Argonians are the natives of Black Marsh
Abilities: Argonian can resist diseases 50%.
They have the ability to breathe underwater. The power of Histskin allows them to recover health ten times faster for 60 seconds.
Initial Bonus: +10 Lock picking
+5 Light armor, Alteration, Pickpocket, Sneak and Restoration.
Bosmer
Bosmer is the race of Wood Elves of Valenwood.
Abilities: Bosmer can resist diseases and poison 50%.
They have the power to make an animal their ally for 60 seconds per day.
Initial Bonus: +10 Archery
+5 Light armor, Alchemy, Lockpicking, Pick pocket and Sneak.
Breton
Breton is a race native to the High Rock.
Abilities: Breton has the ability to resist magic 50%.
They have the power of Dragonskin which absorbs 50% magicka from spells cast by enemy for 60 seconds.
Spells: Conjure Familiar
Initial Bonus: +10 Conjuration
+5 Alteration, Alchemy, Illusion, Restoration and Speech.
Dunmer
Dunmer also known as the Dark Elves are the native race of Morrowind.
Abilities: Dunmer can resist fire 50%.
They have the power of Ancestor’s Wrath allowing them to envelop themselves in a ring of fire. The enemies that come in contact with the fire will lose 8 points per second.
Spells: Sparks
Initial Bonus: +10 Destruction
+5 Alteration, Alchemy, Illusion, Light armor and Sneak.
Imperial
Imperial race reside in Cyrodiil.
Abilities: They have the ability of Imperial Luck and are more likely to find gold than any other race.
Imperials possess the power of the Voice of the Emperor. It calms their adversaries for 60 seconds.
Initial Bonus: +10 Restoration
+5 Destruction, Block, Enchanting, Heavy Armor and One-handed.
Khajiit
Elsweyr is the province of Khajiit.
Abilities: Khajiit has the ability of Claw Attack. It does bonus damage of 15 points in hand-to-hand combat.
The power of Eye of Night gives them improvement of night vision for 60 seconds.
Initial Bonus: +10 Sneak
+5 Archery, Alchemy, Pickpocket, Lock picking and One-handed.
Nord
Nord reside in Skyrim.
Abilities: Nord can resist Frost 50%.
They have the power of Battle cry, compelling their foes to run away for 30 seconds.
Initial Bonus: +10 Two-handed
+5 Light Armor, Block, One-handed, Smithing and Speech.
Orsimer
Orsimer, or Orc, is a native race of Orsinium.
Abilities: The power of Berserk allows them to suffer just half the 50% damage and inflict double of the damage.
Initial Bonus: +10 Heavy Armor
+5 Block, Enchanting, Two-handed, One-handed and Smithing.
Redguard
Redguard reside in Hammerwell.
Abilities: Redguard can resist poison 50%.
They have the power of Adrenaline Rush. It enables them to regenerate stamina ten times faster for 60 seconds.
Initial Bonus: +10 One-handed
+5 Archery, Alteration, Block, Destruction and Smithing.
The two spells common to all races are Flames and Healing.
As you can see above each race has unique skills and abilities. It makes them suitable for different play style. So, choose your favorable race and begin the epic journey of the Skyrim!
