  • Unarmored and Dangerous: A Martial Sourcebook This massive sourcebook clocks in at 86 pages, 1 page of front cover, 1 page of editorial, 2 pages of SRD, 1 page of advertisement, leaving us with…yes. 82 pages of content. That’s a lot of ground to cover, so let’s take a look!   This book, just fyi, is not a collection of classes in the traditional sense – instead, the goal of this book is to provide a unified set of traditions to codify martial arts in Pathfinder. The pdf does this by introducing martial “ways” – like the Way of the Void, which adds Wisdom-modifier to AC and CMD, even when flat-footed and to touch AC. The Way of Life does […]

  • Lands of Porphyra Campaign Setting This massive campaign setting clocks in at 214 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with a massive 219 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Porphyra…Purple Duck Games’ in-house setting is massive, it’s regional (and extremely crunchy) player’s guide clocking in regularly at 60+ pages…and unlike most campaign settings, this world was not crowdfunded…it just slowly, steadily, came to be…which is an impressive feat in my book. Anyways, Porphyra’s details and unique components are many and have been suffusing Purple Duck Games-supplements for years: Whether it’s the unique mini-game arabakmpsi, the lovecraft gaming toolkit or other offerings – never obtrusive, but the […]

  • Nobles of Porphyra This massive supplement clocks in at 52 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 1 page blank, leaving us with 48 (!!!) pages of content, so let’s take a look!   So…guess what – this actually is a prestige archetype book, one that takes the noble scion PrC and codifies it as a proper 20-level base class, though the set-up herein is obviously more versatile in this one – but there is more to this book than that: Beyond extensive observations regarding what it means to play a noble and the wealth available to them, the noble scions do receive a significant stipend each level, to be precise 750 gp times the class […]

  • Today I’m going to take a look at Purple Duck Games’ excellent collection of deities,   The Gods of Porphyra This pdf is 45 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of SRD and 1 page advertisement, leaving 40 pages of content – quite a bunch for this new pantheon, so let’s check out these gods! Porphyra, until recently, as the aptly written introduction tells us, was a world without gods – and then elves and orcs united and saw their world almost torn asunder by the arrival of gods and the integration of the respective divinity’s domains. That’s about the general gist on the fluff-side. Beyond that, this pdf is also the open faith project, […]
