  • The Fen of the Five-Fold Maw This massive mega-adventure clocks in at 100 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD, 3 pages of advertisement, leaving us with 93 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   I was a backer for the KS of this module, but otherwise was in no way affiliated with the creation of this module.   Before we get into the meat of this module, let me briefly point something out – this book does sport 4 nice feats for swamp dwellers that allow for devastating uses of the terrain. The adversaries herein, often with pretty complex builds, sport statblocks more detailed than usual, meaning you won’t have […]

  • Monster Knowledge Cards II So…I’m going to break my usual format for reviewing here and instead take a look at a deck of cards.   Yes, cards. But what do they contain? Essentially, as the name suggest, Monster Lore – one feature absent (probably for space-reasons) from Paizo’s bestiaries. These cards seek to remedy the absence of DC for knowledge checks about the creatures your PCs will encounter. 4 DCs are given per card, one at DC 10, one at DC 15, one at DC 20 and one at DC 25. Alternatively, these DCs could be added to the monster’s CR for a more complex formula or modified further due to rarity etc.   At the top of each card, […]

  • The new 2013 Core Set of Magic: The Gathering is out now.  There are classic cards, modern favorites, and some brand new cards to the world of Magic.    Here are some interesting M13 cards that I would love to pull from a pack:   Odric, Master Tactician (Converted mana cost of 4 total, 2 are Plains)   3/4 Human Soldier Legendary Creature When Odric attacks you choose which creatures block and how.  Odric’s ability to grant you the choice of defenders can be extremely useful.  You can slip creatures with infect through to land Poison Counters on your opponent, you can kill off enemy creatures using match ups that are in your favor, you can kill off your own creatures to potentially trigger passive abilities of other cards, […]
