  • Wardens of the Wild (PFRPG/5e) This massive sourcebook clocks in at 217 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of KS-thanks, 2 pages of ToC, 1 page of SRD, leaving us with 210 pages of content, so let’s take a look.   But before we do: I was a stretchgoal for this book and thus, this will be more of a general overview and the following will not consider a rating  -you won’t find me picking apart content or the like in the following text, as I instead try to provide a general idea of what you can find in this book.   Got that? Great! We begin this massive book with an introduction and a short […]

  • Faction: Tear Sworn This pdf clocks in at 13 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 9 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Death in itself is a tragedy; it is one of our defining forces, in many cases our greatest fear and the finality of its force, the inevitability makes it impossible to come to terms easily with. In real life, I can recommend Julian Barnes’ “Nothing to be frightened of” as perhaps the most touching and well-written book on the subject matter I know, but the matter of fact is that, in a fantasy world, not even death is necessarily final, with the abomination of […]

  • Carnival of Sinners This massive book clocks in at 50 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with a massive 46 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Carnivals are awesome…and creepy. The blending of the alien and the familiar, the oscillation of bright light and deepest shadows fascinate, entice. I distinctly recall a sense of kinship when I first saw the more weirder performances and the sense of freedom implied in such a life, despite the hardships, resonates with me on a primal level. In roleplaying games, specifically the various iterations I’ve played, I did ten to enjoy the modules and supplements dealing with […]

  • Feats Reforged Vol. III – The Combat Feats The third installment of TPK Games’ reimagination of feats as scaling with the levels clock in at 68 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, leaving us with a massive 65 (!!!) pages of content..but what do these pages cover?   Well, essentially this book covers the feats from Ultimate Combat and introduces scaling mechanisms into them. Now the pdf does mention the topic of balance – and whether this changes the balance of the game. The basic stance taken by the pdf is “no”, as long as you apply the scaling mechanisms to adversaries as well. personally, I am not sold on that, seeing how classes with […]

  • Rise of the Drow   This massive tome of a module is 494 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page designer signatures, 1 blank page inside front cover, 1 page editorial, 5 pages ToC,2 pages of SRD, 2 pages of backer-lists, 12 pages of advertisements (all in the back), 1 page back cover, leaving us with 469 pages of content…that’s A LOT, so I’ll better get going!   First, let me preface this review with a disclaimer: I reviewed the original Rise of the Drow-trilogy back in the day, and it already was a very good array of modules then. When this kickstarter happened, I was asked to be a stretch-goal and I agreed. I did receive compensation for […]

  • More Malcontent This supplemental pdf for TPK Games’ much-lauded Malefactor-class is 23 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page advertisement, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 18 pages of content, so let’s check this out!   All too often in the days of old, we got cool classes -and never any support for them. Thankfully, these days are over – the 3pps of PFRPG thankfully cooperate and often support one another and their products. Rather nice is also that multiple classes have gotten supplemental products to further expand their options – which is absolutely awesome! And now, the Malefactor gets a massive expansion of the available tools – but what do we get? […]
