  • Kill Shakespeare Volume 2: The Blast of War   Kill Shakespeare written by Conor McCreery & Anthony Del Col, with art by Andy Belanger is an original series borrowing heavily from Shakespearean lore to craft an original and exciting story.  The authors achieve this feat by taking the most famous of William Shakespeare’s characters and launching them wildly flailing into a intriguing story. In the world McCreery, Del Col, and Belanger have created, William Shakespeare is regarded either as a god-like figure or an arch-villain depending upon with whom one inquires.  One thing is certain though, he is the creator and is to play a pivotal role in the destiny of the Shakespearean characters. Hamlet plays the role of lead character both in […]

  • Comicon and events like it paved the way for an overall acceptance and admiration for those willing to don costumes and put on make up to play roles outside their ordinary life.  I for one always feel that as soon as the makeup or mask goes on, I really become this other person and adapt a new voice, accent, and mannerisms.  It happens naturally and without any conscious effort, possibly due to my history of running D&D games and acting out the roles of various NPCs since I was eight. As acceptance of wearing adult costumes spreads and more people feel comfortable donning their otherworldly garb, the costume industry blossoms.  Today I wanted to take the time to sit down […]

  • Marvel > DC Ok, I know that without DC, Marvel may not exist today.  It’s not a chicken before the egg debate.  DC came first, but first is not always best.  In fact, without Marvel, DC may have gone under many years ago.  It’s been a wonderful rivalry and relationship over the years. I want to be clear:  Even though I think Marvel is better than DC, I still like DC.  I never understood why someone would love one and hate the other.  Why can’t we like both?  I do.  I just like one more than the other, that’s all. Why do I like Marvel best?  Where do I start?  In almost all comics, you have to be able to […]
