  • Letters from the Flaming Crab: Here there be (tiny) Dragons This installment of Flaming Crab Games’ experimental “Letters from the Flaming Crab”-series clocks in at 15 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 12 pages of content!   Once again, we begin this supplement with a letter from the planes-and world-hopping vessel, kindly salvaged and expanded upon by the team and made available for public consumption by this channel…so what dragons are introduced here?   The first creature we find in these pages would be the CR 3 coral dragon – aquatic dragons somewhat akin to the poisonous coral fishes, capable of squirting forth jets of poisonous acid. And yes, there is a rather gorgeous […]

  • The Mists of Akuma – Imperial Dragons (5e) The fourth free preview-pdf for Mists of Akuma clocks in at 10 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page list of things to expect, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 6 pages of content, one of which, as always, is devoted to the continent of Soburin, so let’s take a look!   After a gorgeous art and proverb, we dive into the wonderfully crafted prose that details the history and nature of Imperial dragons – and no, they’re not conveniently color-coded. The pdf’s crunchy meat supplementing this prose would be three sample dragons – the wyrmling underworld dragon (challenge 6) that gets a nasty multiattack, necrotic breath and frightful […]

This class was optional and thus allowed you to play the race sans progressing in […]

  • Monsters of NeoExodus: Dragons This monster book clocks in at 34 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial/SRD, 2 pages of advertisement, leaving us with a massive 30 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Ah, dragons! Who doesn’t love them? They’re the apex-predators, the big, nasty super-killer creatures and there is no adversary as iconic out there. Suffice to say, I’ve read a lot of dragon-variants over the years and I very much loathed the “everything needs to be a half-dragon”-trend in the dying days of 3.X – the tendency cheapened dragons in my opinion and took away from their impact. I’ve also been pretty vocal about my preference for dragons to be smart adversaries that […]

The relative vulnerability of dragons to certain builds. Yeah, in my home-game, I fixed that via templates etc., but the matter of fact remains that in mythic rules, this is further enhanced. Enter this pdf.   Beyond a number of suggested abilities from the Mythic Adventures base book to help design challenging draconic adversaries, we receive new abilities – a lot of […]

(D’unh!) These templates sport a fear-rating mechanic called shock value, which, while optional, make them especially useful for gritty/horror games. Better yet (and even more crucial) – the gruesome creatures sport knowledge check-modifications to glean information on the creatures AND reward players that fight smart/do […]

  • 10 Dragon Magic Items This installment of Rite Publishing’s 10-series clocks in at 8 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 5 pages of content – quite a bunch for the low price point   So magic items for dragons? Yep, beyond the obvious option to use them in conjunction with Rite Publishing’s excellent “In the Company of Dragons” or Rogue Genius Games “Dracomancer“, the items should be considered a treasure trove for DMs – take the barbules of missile nullification, which net a 75% miss chance versus non-ray ranged attacks…which is powerful, but the beauty here would be in the fluff – the barbules are adamantine spikes that are drilled into the […]

Well, by a number of rather unique, narrative stunts – first, the pdf maintains compatibility with your campaign setting’s dragons by assigning a unique, separate, but distinct fluff to these dragons – called Tanimin, they live in the secluded place called “Lost Isle”, isolated by planar boundaries from the realms of mortals. In this sheltered place, these beings called Tanimin, have prospered – but, as their origin […]

I was set up with a gaming online site Steam.com and could start playing at midnight eastern time.  I am so glad that I live on the west coast.  I have been waiting just like everyone else, but now my precious was here.  SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!  The introduction to the game: you are a criminal being transported to be executed.  While you are traveling in this horse cart, you are taught how to use the different controls in order to move.  You are then lined up and called out.  Since you have not made your character yet you define what your character is and how it should look.  The […]

Let me start off by saying that I have currently clocked in around 30 hours on Skyrim and I absolutely love it. The ability to wander such a vast map and enjoy all that it has to offer can feel overwhelming at times, but nonetheless it is an amazing experience to behold. Yet, an experience that comes with bugs along the way.   That’s right. Everyone’s favorite things about these games: glitches. Now I have read about some bad bugs that people have found, but to be […]
