  • Agent Johnson frantically reached for the built-in computer panel along the side of the park bench.  Just over his shoulder he could see the group of twelve men in pursuit; another set of six men spread in a circle that must have been at least a hundred meter radius from his position.  Johnson already knew what they were doing, most likely setting up a perimeter to keep observers away so they could capture the agent.  The twelve men were now making a mad dash toward him while trying to home in on his location with their micro-fix weapons (a tool that utilizes ultra-dense vibrations to ‘fix’ an object).  He knew that a second or two more and then we would […]

  • When I dream at night I am blessed with visions of a strange world.  While I am sure I am viewing an advanced technology, I am still unsure what time I am observing.  Was it sometime in the distant past or a vision of the future?  I may never know.  Regardless, this is what I see: As I walk down the streets I see vehicles passing me by that seem to glide on invisible tracks.  With nothing underneath them, these tear-shaped vehicles smoothly, quickly move past me without making a sound.  The roads are made of a soft, almost silicon substance.  Many people walk on the streets with their bare feet because the molecular composition allows for rigid strength while […]

  • A short writing on an early vision of transhumanism. One night, when I was probably 6 years of age, I woke in the middle of the night.  For some strange reason I felt compelled to go outside, into the darkness.  Strangely, I felt no fear to walk into the darkness, that monster playground which remains so dense with evil creatures of a child’s imagination.  I slowly walked outside and saw the stars over my head.  The whole Milky Way galaxy stretched overhead like snow in a crystal ball, so pure and bright.  I was forced to stand in awe of its beauty and expanse which filled the night sky. The next day, when I tried to remember what I witnessed […]

  • One of my favorite books while growing up as a small child addressed the issue of doing away with straight-line travel; its name was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle.  In her book she first described the shortest distance between two points as a straight line.  While this makes perfect sense for inter-planetary and metropolitan travel, it would prove extremely slow when applied to deep-space travel. By walking the reader through a visual depiction she showed points A and B as separate ends of a string.  The traveler was represented as an ant on the string.  Rather than force the ant to walk from beginning to end, she brought the two points together as the observers watched the ant […]
