At the same time OMG, get this!   Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. At this point, it most assuredly should be no secret that I consider Raging Swan ‘s dressing files among the most useful books […]

  • Campaign Kits: What Lies in the Shadows Under the Trees This installment of the Campaign Kits-series clocks in at 26 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 1 page advertisement, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 21 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Okay, what are campaign kits? Basically, they are backdrops and encounters that you can insert into your campaign; in previous installments, we had the skeleton of a village, loosely tied to a theme. This theme is represented in more detail by a collection of more detailed encounters that provide a tad bit more detail – haunts, traps and statblocks for these brief adventure/sidetrek-sketches are included. This installment differs a […]

The simple reply to this question is that is somewhere between a dressing file and a sequence of encounters that can be developed into basically a collection of different little modules. We get the small city of Maidenhill, with full-color map (alas, sans key-less version, but since it has no SPOILERS, I’m okay with it) and settlement statblock – Maidenhill can easily be […]

The original iteration has sported some glitches that have been identified and rectified, which is why this review is based on V.2.0 of the book.   So, what is this? Well, in short, this book contains 8 expanded adventure seeds: With statblocks and structure and all, just […]

This is NOT a review in the traditional sense. Why? Because I am NOT going to analyze piece by piece, content by content everything featured herein – with a book as dense as Wayfinder #14, this would bloat the review to a level that would benefit no one, considering its free availability. What I’ll be doing instead, is first telling you a bit about Wayfinder…and what it means to me.   […]

The blending of the alien and the familiar, the oscillation of bright light and deepest shadows fascinate, entice. I distinctly recall a sense of kinship when I first saw the more weirder performances and the sense of freedom implied in such a life, despite the hardships, resonates with me on a primal level. In roleplaying games, specifically the various iterations I’ve played, I did ten to enjoy the modules and supplements dealing with […]

Well, first of all, it’s the heir of Obsidian Twilight – a campaign-setting that gloriously failed just about all my expectations. Still, LPJr Design improved so vastly that I joined, with a somewhat hopeful anticipation, the Kickstarter to make Obsidian Apocalypse, the sequel. Kind of. For, while there is a default setting kind of assumed, Obsidian Apocalypse now is less of a campaign setting, but rather an extremely versatile toolbox for to scavenge from. So after the […]

They’re rather intended for the recently released Obsidian Apocalypse setting/campaign toolbox by LPJr Design. While the characters herein might work with Carrion Crown, they are ALL very uncommon races, i.e. those from Obsidian Apocalypse, meaning that they’re slightly stronger than the core races and that they, fluff-wise, tend to be rather monstrous. Personally, I draw a […]
