  • Mini-Dungeon: Mysteries of the Endless Maze This pdf clocks in at 2 pages and is a mini-dungeon. This means we get 2 pages content, including a solid map (alas, sans player-friendly version) and all item/monster-stats hyperlinked and thus, absent from the pdf, with only deviations from the statblocks being noted for the GM.   Since this product line’s goal is providing short diversions, side-quest dungeons etc., I will not expect mind-shattering revelations, massive plots or particularly smart or detailed depictions, instead tackling the line for what it is. Got that? Great!   This being an adventure-review, the following contains SPOILERS. Potential players may wish to jump to the conclusion. … .. . Still here? All right! This is a ready […]

  • Campaign Kits: The Mysteries of Hollowfield This Campaign Kit clocks in at 39 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 35 pages of content, so let’s check this out!   This installment of the Campaign Kits-series is a charity product for the Roleplaying Game Creators Relief Fund and it is, to make that clear from the get-go, a “Pay what you want”-product. The original iteration has sported some glitches that have been identified and rectified, which is why this review is based on V.2.0 of the book.   So, what is this? Well, in short, this book contains 8 expanded adventure seeds: With statblocks and structure and all, just […]

  • Faerie Mysteries This pdf clocks in at 29 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page blank inside the front cover, 2 pages of introduction/editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 22 pages of content, so let’s take a look, shall we?   One problem fey-based modules have when faced with my standards regarding fey is that the creatures ought to be familiar, yet weird, strange, yet familiar – and that a sense of otherworldly timelessness ought to pervade an encounter with fey – something rather difficult (at least from what I’ve seen…) to accomplish. The introduction and the respective concerns shows a concern for that otherworldly intrusion into reality we consider weird, of […]

  • Class Expansions: Mysteries of Madness This installment of the Class Expansions-series is 4 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 2 pages of content, so let’s take a look, shall we?   As you could glean from the title, we get new mysteries in here, both of which are introduced with some aptly-written prose before we delve into the respective crunch. First of which would be The Cacophony, which immediately made me flash back to Demons & Wizard’s “Touched by the Crimson King”‘s introductory Discordia-chanting – alongside the fluff-text evoking the concept of Vestiges as a nice nod for aficionados of pact magic, we’re off to a good start. A total of 10 revelations are […]
