  • Mystery at Ravenrock This module for PF1 clocks in at 25 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD,1  page back cover, leaving us with 20 pages, so let’s take a look!   This review was moved up in my reviewing queue at the request of my patreon supporters.   All right, so, first things first – this is the second of James Thomas’ modules dealing with the frontier’s region of Ravenreach. The module focuses on a very Borderlands-ish feel and should slot seamlessly into such regions – or e.g. the River Kingdoms in Golarion. Of course, you can also use it in the Lost Lands-setting without any hassle. The module is intended for […]

  •   Hej everybody, today I’m going to take a look at the two modules Ron Lundeen has so far penned for Headless Hydra Games,   The Haunting of Soldragon Academy  This adventure is 27 pages long, 1 page front/back cover, half a page editorial, 1 page SRD, leaving 24.5 pages of adventure, so let’s check it out! The pdf adheres to the two-column formatting standard. Editing is top-notch, I didn’t notice any glitches or typos. The only strange decision of the formatting is that the front and back cover are on the same page, which is a pity as the cover image is nice. There are also some enumeration-dots missing on the last page. Once you check the file out, […]

  • Sherlock Holmes: The Army of Dr. Moreau is a fascinating novel that combines the two classic characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Moreau into a horrifying mystery. I found this book enjoyable and easy to read. It was definitely a page-turner and it came to a satisfying conclusion. The book begins with Sherlock Holmes’ brother, Mylock Holmes, presenting a top-secret case to Holmes and Dr. Watson. It revolves around three grisly murders that occurred in London. While the newspapers reported that the murders were the result of gang work, an in depth look into the bodies reveals that they were torn apart by exotic creatures that one would normally find in Australia or India, not the streets of London. Mylock […]

  • The Twenty-Year Death by Ariel S. Winter is an incredible piece of hard case crime work. The book is actually three different stories that are connected through a larger overarching story. The twist on the three different stories is that they each take place in a different decade and are penned in the style of a different iconic hard crime/pulp fiction author.   The first novel occurs during the 1930s and is written in the style of Georges Simenon. It is set in a small town in France near a large national prison. Although the town is essentially a prison town, it is known for being relatively peaceful with a low crime rate until a series of mysterious murders take […]
