  • A Night at the Golden Duck (OSR) And now for something completely different! This little ‘zine can, per the writing of this review, only be purchased in print and, at first glance, seems to be 7 pages long – however, this supplement can be unfolded into a massive poster that is littered with the maps of the place featured, with adventure hooks, and stats – The stats note AC (ascending), HP, attacks + damage and brief special features like “climbs easily.” Skills are noted as “X in 6.” Thus, as far as rules are concerned, this pretty much can be considered to be easy to implement in most games. No level-range is provided, though I’d situate this somewhere along the […]

  • Uncertain Worlds (system neutral) This pdf clocks in at 96 pages, 2.5 pages of ToC, leaving us with 93.5 pages of content, laid out in 6’’ by 9’’ (A5). I own both the electronic and print version of this booklet, and my review is based on both of them.   So, what is this? This is basically a collection of fragments, of odds and ends, of what I’d call a GM’s Miscellanea, a toolbox if you will; more detailed and specific than dressing, less detailed than finished supplements, this is a book to open when you’re looking for some inspiration to get your design-engines going. The content was curated from author Patrick Stuart’s blog, but the super low asking price […]

  • Deep Carbon Observatory (OSR) This adventure clocks in at 90 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page blank, 1 page ToC, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 85 pages, laid out in 6’’ by 9’’ (or A5), meaning that you can fit up to 4 pages on a sheet of paper.   So, this adventure assumes LotFP (Lamentations of the Flame Princess) rules and statblocks are provided – minimal ones for monsters (armor noted as analogue for armors, HD, HP, move and damage noted), and detailed ones for the Crows. Who or what are the Crows? Well, for that, I need to get into SPOILERS so please indulge me and wait a second.   Really cool: […]
