  • 101 5th-level Spells (5e) This collection of spells clocks in at 37 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 34 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   This review was moved up in my reviewing-queue as a prioritized review at the request of my patreons. I did receive this pdf prior to public release in order to allow for a speedy release of the review.   We begin this supplement with massive lists of the respective spells by class, before moving on the alphabetic presentation of spells. Now, obviously, I can’t go through each and every spell contained here, but I’ll try to give you a good […]

  • Everyman Minis: Spells of Comedy This Everyman Mini clocks in at 7 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page advertisement, 1.5 pages of SRD, leaving us with 2.5 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   As always, we begin with a bit of supplemental material after the introduction, which, this time around, would be the Tricky Spell metamagic feat, which increases the spell level in question by two: In short, the feat lets you make a dirty trick attempt against ALL targets of the spell in question, substituting caster level for BAB and governing spellcasting attribute for Strength. Feats that enhance dirty tricks apply here as well, but only creatures you either hit or that […]

  • The Genius Guide to Homophone Spells This Genius Guide clocks in at 10 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 3 pages of SRD, leaving us with 5 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Okay, after a brief and humorous introduction, we move right on to the spells in question – which btw. do take the occult classes, ACG classes etc. into account regarding their availability. The first of these would be Ade, which generates a refreshing beverage that quenches thirst for a day and prevents needing to succeed Constitution checks to avoid nonlethal damage from thirst. At 1st level, that trivializes travel hazards a bit early…and as an aside, personally, I become more thirsty when […]

We begin the pdf thus with the “biology” if you will, of these sentient spells. Stray spells are, per se, immortal, though in practice, they always run the risk of being transcribed […]

Well, once one thinks about it, that seeming contradiction is immediately resolved: After all, when dealing with potent, heroic characters, why not even the playing field with high-powered, mythic villains? In fact, it took Frog God Games’ phenomenal “Fields of Blood” to make them really stand out and finally get their due.   The pdf provides spell-lists for all pre-Occult Adventures spellcasting classes, organized by class first, then by level and then alphabetically. Well, at 1st level, you gain proficiency in all simple and martial weapons that deal slashing or piercing damage and when you fall below 1/2 maximum hit points, […]

This means a spell can be cast as one level higher or as one level lower. The series covers all spells from the core-book, APG, UM and Ultimate Combat. • Mythic Magic: Advanced Spells II This installment of the Mythic Magic-series clocks in at 30 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 2 pages ToC, 2 pages of introduction, 2 pages of advertisement, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 20 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   All right, so, unsurprisingly, this installment of mythic magic once again provides mythic versions for all spells contained within one of Paizo’s big hardcovers, this time around the Advanced Races Guide. If the spell is not in the original Mythic Adventures hardcover, rest assured it can be found herein. Now if you’re a regular follower of my reviews, you’ll know that I consider the ARG a […]

  • Mythic Magic: Ultimate Spells II This installment of the Mythic Magic-series clocks in at 52 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, 1 page ToC, 2 pages of introduction, 2 pages of advertisement and 1 page back cover, leaving us with 43 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   So this would be the fourth installment of Mythic Magic, and, like its predecessors, it tackles one of Paizo’s big books and provides mythic versions of all spells not covered in the original Mythic Adventures hardcover – ALL OF THEM. This time around, Ultimate Magic is covered. Now I’m not a fan of the base book. I think that it introduced a lot of power […]

  • Mythic Magic: Advanced Spells I This massive book clocks in at 64 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page RSD, 2 pages of ToC, 2 pages of introduction, 1 page advertisement, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 55 (!!!) pages of content, so let’s take a look!   At this point, I assume you are familiar with the basic premise of the mythic magic-series – essentially, we receive all those delicious spells that are not included in the original Mythic Adventures hardcover in their mythic versions, with each book covering quite a bit of ground – this one taking perhaps THE defining Pathfinder book, the APG. No other book has for me coined a distinct, unique […]

  • 1001 Spell Cards: 134 Magus Spells So this time we’ll once again do something completely different – let’s take a look at Rite Publishing’s Spell Card deck for the Magus! First of all – from where are these drawn? Well, know the magical magnum opus, the spellbook to end all spellbooks, 1001 spells? If not, then… I don’t know. It’s a superb tome that actually contains 1010 spells, but oh well.   Back to the deck – here we get the magus spells from that book, conveniently printed on nice US-Poker-sized cards. In the upper right corner, we get the respective spell’s level. The upper third of the card contains the spell’s header, whereas the lower 2/3rds contain the spell’s […]

  •   Today, I’m going to take a look at Jon Brazer Enterprises‘ Book of Magic: Signature spell-series, starting with   Book of Signature Spells I   This pdf is 12 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial & SRD, 1 page advertisement and 1 page back cover, leaving 8 pages for the signature spells.   After 3 pages of spell-lists, providing lists for classes like Magus, Alchemist, etc. (NICE!) as well as the basic core classes, we are introduced to the selection of new spells herein. If I have not miscounted, we get 31 new spells, several of which are supposed to be signature spells or certain legendary mages.  I really like that premise, as e.g. Bigby’s hands […]
