  • Call to Arms: Fantastic Technology This installment of Fat Goblin Games’ Call to Arms-series clocks in at a massive 46 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page introduction, 1 page ToC, 1 page SRD, 1 page advertisement, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 39 pages of content so let’s take a look!   Now this book, obviously, expands on the content of the Technology Guide, so I expect familiarity with that material in this review.   This supplement begins with a piece of adept prose and recap on the significant influence technology has had on the development of our very society and there is a reason for that: Before we can take a look at how […]

  • Amethyst Renaissance This massive pdf is 399 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page inside front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of ToC, 1 page Index, 1 page SRDs and 1 page back cover, leaving us with a whopping 391 pages of content, so let’s check this out! I’ll just come out and say it: I’m not familiar with any old iterations of the Amethyst-setting, thus I can’t draw any direct comparisons. What is Amethyst then? Essentially it is a what-if scenario of vast ambitions: What would happen if a logical fantasy setting, with all its consequences, with its magic etc., was thrust upon our technological world. Not a black/white dichotomy, nor a stylized version of fantasy. The […]

  • This high powered little projector has blown my mind!  It’s tiny, portable, and has all the power of its bloated predecessors. We used it to host an impromptu gaming party at our house.  Pinning a white sheet up on the wall and projecting an Xbox 360 via the GP2 we were able to run two video games at once in my living room.  While a few people played 007 Goldeneye Reloaded on the projector, the other group played Halo Reach on the TV. We were quite impressed with the crisp and clear image from the projector, especially since we were using a sheet as a projector screen!  The GP2 projects in full 720p HD. I didn’t expect the tiny unit […]

  • Perhaps Earth is but an afterthought for terrestrial travelers on the move from one galaxy to the next?  Much like we pay no mind to ants on our daily journeys, why would we stop to admire anthills?  The wind may blow their world away like sand blown through a desert.  This will happen millions of times, almost too many times to count or care.  Until the ants seek to better themselves through seeing beyond their single generation then they will perish like autumn leaves, always destined to die. We, the intergalactic ants, may beg and cry “Why have we not been visited by aliens from the sky?”  Yet, perhaps we may have been visited a million times over but they […]

  • Move over Luke Skywalker, you might be the only Jedi with a robotic hand, but you’re not the only human.  Meet Patrick who in this video demonstrates his newly installed robotic hand, the world’s first!  This isn’t the world’s first cyborg though, in fact the first was Professor Kevin Warwick over 13 years ago.  After you watch this video read this article at Gizmodo about the world’s first cyborg who had a RFID chip installed so he could turn the lights on and off by snapping his fingers. Patrick (shown in the video below) lost the use of his hand when he was electrocuted at work.  He requested that his useless hand be amputated in order to install this new […]

  • A man purchased this hard drive in a Chinese gift store in the USA for an extremely low price.  After he could not get his computer to properly recognize the entire 500 GB of space on the drive he took it to Samsung who immediately recognized it as counterfeit.  The hard drive was opened up to reveal a tiny 128 MB flash drive inside.  A healthy reminder that if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
