  • Legendary Treasures X This installment of the Legendary Item-series clocks in at 45 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 41 pages of content, laid out in 6’’ by 9’’ (A5), which means you can fit up to 4 pages on a given sheet of paper when printing this.   Now, in case you’re not familiar with the series: The Legendary Items pioneered by Purple Duck Games have influenced my own games to an extent that only very few series have achieved. The idea is simple: I don’t know a single player who *really likes* the throwaway magic economy; we know, from a ton of books, the notion that magic items slowly […]

  • Relic Files: Treasures of the Earth I – Svarduun, the Black Hammer After the deviation from the formula in the last installment of this series, where we took a look at a power armor, this constitutes a return to the formula of depicting a relic, i.e. with a magic weapon that increases in potency every level. • Relic Files – Treasures of Camelot I: Arthur’s Scabbard This pdf clocks in at 4 pages, 1 page SRD, 1 page introduction on the first page, leaving us with two pages for the relic, so let’s take a look!   So what are relics? well, relics were introduced in the Genius Guides to Relics of the Godlings I + II and they essentially are Rogue Genius Games’ take on magic items that increase in power with your character – and if you know anything about my stance on that topic, then you won’t be surprised by me really liking this take. Now unlike Rite Publishing’s Legacy Items and Purple Duck Games’ Legendary Items, most Relics are inspired by real life […]
