  • Monster Classes: Undead The third installment of the Monster Classes-series clocks in at 11 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 8 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   So, what is this? In one sentence: It’s Dreamscarred press providing the Savage Species type of “Play monsters”-rules for  the context of the Pathfinder roleplaying game. The pdf does acknowledge that this series (or even, individual installments) may not be for everyone – the fact is that most modules are humanocentric and thus, playing monsters can wreck havoc with the assumptions of a given game…more so than players are liable to anyways.   Let’s not kid ourselves here – the guidelines presented […]

  • Feats of Legend: 20 Undead Feats This installment of the Feats of Legend-series clocks in at 7 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 4 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   This pdf begins with a handy table that sums up the feats with prereqs etc. and then dives straight into the feats, so what do they do?   -Boneyard Born: +1 DC for necromancy spells, +1 to all saves versus necromancy or death effects, can be qualified for via eldritch heritage and the undead bloodline. Odd, nonstandard formatting: A feat referred is italicized, something the pdf, confusingly continues to do.   -Dark Conduit: Adds your Con-mod to Cha-mod to […]

  • Summon Undead This massive book by Flaming Crab Games clocks in at 90 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial/ToC, 2.5 pages SRD, 1 page blank, 1 page back cover, leaving us with a massive 83.5 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Back in 3.X, there was the old saying that arcanists just suck at necromancy – and to a certain extent, this still is true – surprisingly, if you think about. While fiction does provide ample examples for vile priests commanding the legions of the undead, the iconic image is still that of the necrotheurge (which would be the proper, non-game-speak way to refer to them, just fyi…), the arcane caster, the evil wizard commanding […]

  • Monster Advancement: Enhanced Undead The first installment of the monster advancement-series clocks in at 17 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 13 pages of content, so let’s take a look, shall we?   So what do we have here? Essentially, this pdf provides one expanded, massive, extremely customizable templatey toolkit to enhance undead (d’uh), but with a focus of skeletal champions and zombie lords, thematically – so no, VtM-fans, you won’t find a huge array of vampiric powers in here, though the modifications within this book are generic enough to be applicable to just about any undead – the primary focus (and thus mechanical execution) simply is different.   Basically, the […]

  • Most people who are avid fans of the zombie genre ( Like myself), seem to pine for the day when most of us cease to be, when roving gangs of the living dead walk the earth.  This is all just fantasy of course, but if for example such a thing as z-day ( zombie day) actually took place as it does in the movies, just how ‘cool’ would it actually be to live in such a world?  After much thought on the subject,  I have to wonder, would anyone truly be able to thrive under these  conditions…comfortably? Anyway here it goes…enjoy. 1. Relatives – If a zombie outbreak did actually occur,  chances are you’d have to kill your own loved […]
