  • Alien Ass, Hydrogen Gas, or Cosmic Grass… No One Warps For Free (OSR) This massive Alpha Blue supplement clocks in at 74 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages kort’thalis glyph, 2 pages of editorial, 1 page ToC, 3 pages for notes, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 64 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   This review was moved up in my reviewing queue at the request of my patreons.   All right, first things first: This is an Alpha Blue supplement – this setting/game is author Venger As’Nas Satanis’ homage to sleazy 70s scifi porn parodies. The rules-set employed is, as always, VSd6, a super rules-lite d6-based system, supplemented by a metric ton of dressing […]

  • La Bas Chartreuse (OSR) This supplement intended for Venger Satanis‘ „The Outer Presence“-game clocks in at 11 pages, with half a page front cover, 1 page devoted to the editorial and 1 page devoted to the big Kort’thalis glyph, leaving us with 9.5 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Now, first things first – while the name implies as such, do not expect a homage to Là-bas by Joris-Karl Huysmans – instead, this brief supplement represents basically a plug-and-play weirdness that could theoretically be inserted easily into an ongoing game. Theme-wise, this is, unsurprisingly for The Outer Presence, lovecraftian and heavily indebted to the aesthetics of the Cthulhu mythos. That being said, structure is not traditionally the […]

  • Blood Dark Thirst (OSR) Blood Dark Thirst clocks in at 24 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page kort’thalis glyph, 1 page editorial, leaving us with 21 pages of content, so let’s take a look!   Okay, the first thing you’ll note upon opening this pdf, is that it’s gorgeous: The layout by Glynn Seall, with its blood tint and splotches, is glorious. There are no less than 7 (!!) full-page artworks within, all adhering to a mostly black-white- and-tones-of-red aesthetic. This is easily one of Kort’thalis Publishing’s most beautiful books; perhaps even the most beautiful one.   This may not be a surprise to anyone, but I’ll state it nonetheless: Blood Dark Thirst is another rules-lite modification of Venger’s […]
