  • Mythic Mini: Mythic Weapons All right, you know the deal – 3 pages – 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, 1 page content, let’s go!   -Blade-eating Battleaxe: This battleaxe can essentially dual-sunder as a standard action and apply mythic surge benefits to the two sunders. Furthermore, with the expenditure of mythic power, it allows for whirlwind-sundering and allows for reflexive sunderings to counter certain combat maneuvers and abilities. The complex mechanics required here actually work out very well – nice one!   -Kinslayer’s Knife: Nasty blade with blood biography and the target’s relatives becoming apparent to the wielder, making this one very lethal for those carrying out a bloody vendetta.   -Redflame Trollblade: A +1 flaming burst humanoid […]

  • NeoExodus Chronicles: Weapons of Machinesmith Destruction This expansion for LPJr Design’s neat Machinesmith-class clocks in at 14 pages, 2 pages advertisement, 1 page editorial/SRD, leaving us with 11 pages of content, so let’s take a look, shall we?   We begin with a new greatwork, the constructor – this greatwork occupies the head-slot and can be used to create items instantaneously from thin air. And yes, if you’ve been following my reviews, you’ll realize that the very concept is a hornet’s nest – weight-limits, masterwork items, material restrictions, etc. – there is a lot to take into account. Now here’s the cincher – the items are fleeting and come with material and weight-restrictions that, believe it or not, prevent abuse. […]

  •   Raging Swan has a couple of very useful pdfs for the GM to use when handing out treasure and I’ll take a look at them!   So what’s that shiny thing, anyways?   This pdf is 21 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page advertisement, 2 pages editorial, 1 page ToC/foreword, 1 page SRD and 1 page back cover, leaving 14 pages of tables, but what kind of table exactly?   Essentially, this pdf includes a lot of tables to customize your treasure and add interesting bits of fluff to your campaign that may very well spark adventures in and of themselves. It first starts with a d20-table of backsides of coins, something I have used to an […]

  • Things I fear the most:  spiders, walking sticks (bugs), and zombies.  While I know how to deal with the first two threats, I must constantly study how to off a zombie before I become one.  Yet, the hardest part of studying good tactics for a zombie war is that it hasn’t happened yet; there is no comparison to base how one would destroy these creatures.  The only thing we have to prepare ourselves for a possible zombie war is sound logic.  That’s when it becomes necessary to debunk the myths that many horror movies show, however, make no sense when you are really thrust into a world of zombies and survival.  So here are the most basic myths that should […]

  • SKYRIM Questions answered for our NERD TREK readers at PAX Prime 2011: Our time with Bethesda was limited so we couldn’t ask every question you submitted, but I think we did a pretty good job.   One of the guys from Bethesda told us that ours were the best string of questions by one media outlet he’s ever heard.  I credited the NERD TREK readers and he said he was very impressed.  Great job guys!  Here you go: Toney asked: Will there be Daedric Shrine quests? This question opened a can of worms.  Matt Carofano said that they have intentionally avoided confirming or denying this.  He said that they have NOT really talked about it yet.  Since the press demo […]
