  • There are few things worse than dedicating hours of your life, attention, and finger dexterity to a video game only to get to the end and be enormously disappointed. It feels like being robbed of sweet victory, and it amounts to having your built-up expectations shattered. Be forewarned that the following list is a compilation of plot-spoilers, but also know that these plots were spoiled long before this list was ever written. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault After days of fighting Nazis in Africa and France, being challenged by enemies who become increasingly clever in their assaults, and completing nearly thirty levels, this game ends on a flat note. One would expect a game with such nuanced graphics and detailed […]

  • PAX 2011 – Day 3 The morning came early. Our team successfully uploaded the GuildWars2 panel videos but it was a late night. We were all tired but had to push forward. We still had a lot of interviews ahead of us. I looked down and saw that the camera wasn’t plugged in, once again. I knew I would never hear the end of it. The day started off slowly. My legs ached from all the walking over the previous couple days. The shower didn’t seem strong enough to push the sleep from my brain. Loveless and I started out the day by finding the booth of a company we had to cancel on previously. It was impossible to make it to every appointment on time […]

  • Here’s a list of video games that I’d like to see more information on, if I’m not already anxiously awaiting the release.  Most of them come out by the end of the year 2011, but there are a couple early previews for 2012…   Assassins Creed: Revelations The city looks beautiful.  This game takes place in Constantinople after the events of Brotherhood.  You’ll be looking for 5 keys to unlock the library.  Eighty-five percent of the city is sloped.  Zip lines utilizing the new hook blade are often used since the city is so sloped.  The hook blade is vicious.  It’s really cool.  You can tear into people and finish enemies with some interesting moves using the hook blade.  You can use a smoke bomb and “Eagle Sense” (like eagle […]

  • Yes, you heard me Microsoft- we’re coming for you.  Like a horde of mindless zombies honing in on a fresh kill, the masses aren’t going to take it anymore.  Your stupid Kinect update for the Xbox 360 has rendered those of us with older Xboxes “console-less”.  Apparently your update not only gave a fresh and fancy new look to the Xbox 360 dashboard but also ate our DVD drives for breakfast.  In your futile war on piracy you created a little icky worm that clung to the update and then leaped into our DVD firmware once it was downloaded and installed.  This little guy is stinky, gooey, dirty, and slimy and he ruined my Xbox.  I have found many ways […]
